Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, the world stopped… 

Come From Away is the remarkable story of the close-knit community of Gander, Newfoundland, that played host to the world in the aftermath of “9/11”. What started as an average day in this small town turned into a 5-day international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying over 6000 people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander opened their doors and their hearts welcoming the stranded travelers with kindness, compassion, and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
